She was raised on government food in a trailer park in Gary Indiana. Her dad was a wreck hooked on heroin, every time he called home he was drunk. She saw him in a store, but so much time had passed, he didn’t recognize his little girl. A depressed town leads to depressed folks and so did grandpa who touched her. She was born in Worcester Mass to two young kids, straight from Puerto Rico. Her dad was a wreck such an awful cliche, in and out of prison for drugs. She was one of thirteen, twelve she never knew, so many different mothers. Mom’s mental games and her father’s absence, made it hard for that young girl to grow. But still you made it through somehow and still you managed to keep a sense of self. But still you walked away somehow and still you managed to keep a sense of self. She was born an Irish-Catholic in the late 50’s, she was one sibling of nine. Her father died when she was just fifteen, his lungs gave out to a factory. Within a year her brother was shot and died, the family was left torn apart. If they wanted food or clothes or anything, the kids had to fend for themselves. But still you made it through... It’s not my place to say would you have been so strong? It’s not my place to say would you have come so far? I don’t think that I would have been so strong. I don’t think that I would have come so far. But still ...
